Although the Log Cabin has served the community very well for over 45 years, it also has a variety of functional difficulties. These include:
- The meeting area is too small for some. The room gets crowded with 45+ people.
- The meeting area is not flexible, because there is only one meeting room.
- All equipment (tables, chairs, etc.) are in full view at all times. The building has no significant storage area to hide equipment.
- Visitors and new residents find the entrance too "hidden". When you're in the park (on the square), the entrance is not visible, since it faces the street.
- The concrete floor can be slippery. This is especially problematic because of the drainage issues and becomes a hazard when water is running into the building.
- Creatures may enter. The doors are not tight enough to keep all creatures from entering the building.
