A close up view from the southeast direction highlights the timber framing on the southern porch, the cupola, and the chimney.  At the far right side of the photograph, you start to see the east retaining wall, which is designed to shelter the building from rain runoff.  This wall provides a raised landscaped location, helping to blend the building into the park.
